2026 NCFL Nationals yEd Graphs - Healthcare Public Good

Hello!

To improve the quality of our briefs, I started drawing graphs of each topic using a program called yEd. After I am done with a brief, I will also release these yEd graphs for you to view on yEd Live for free if you think it will assist your understanding of the topic.

Graph Legend

All aff arguments are shown in green. All neg arguments are shown in red. All neutral topic knowledge is shown without a fill color. If something is generally useful—regardless of whether you do circuit debate—the node will be a "pill" shape, meaning a rectangle with rounded edges. If something is more esoteric and only useful for circuit debaters familiar with DAs, CPs, T and Theory, the node will be a rectangle shape. See the legend below for more details.

The above external link will open yEd Live and load the graph file from my Github account. If you see something related to Github named "Brett Boelkens," that is me, and you are on the right track.

Below are some screenshots of the popup menus and the final results. The steps are (1) click the above link, (2) select "load file," (3) select a theme, and (4) zoom in to subsections of the graph. Make a personal copy if you want to update it based on developments in your topic knowledge.

My yEd files are just a jumping off point for me to frame arguments on the topic and potentially link those to arguments on other topics: they are not the end all be all of graphs. If these graphs are a good learning tool for you, then check back in after the next brief is released for NSDA Nationals and you will see another graph. If not, ignore these blog posts (unless you like looking at graphs for no reason).
